Using this ZooMed external canister filter is easy. First, place the filter near your turtle tank, making sure it can fit comfortably due to its slimline design. Connect the hoses according to the instructions. Then, fill the canister with the appropriate filter media for mechanical, biological, and chemical filtration. Plug in the filter and turn it on. The 265 gph rating will start cleaning the water right away. As for the spray bar, it helps increase oxygenation in the water, so make sure it's properly installed. When it comes to maintenance, regularly check the filter media. Replace mechanical media when it gets dirty, usually every few weeks. Biological media should be replaced less often, maybe every few months. Keep an eye on the water flow. If it slows down, it might be time to clean or replace some parts.
